Survey: Nearly half of cryptocurrency holders store bitcoins in hardware wallets

According to Cointelegraph May 4, a recent survey published on Reddit showed that nearly half of cryptocurrency holders store most of the bitcoin. In a hardware wallet, keep a copy of the private key on a piece of paper. Reddit user gunnaj posted the findings to Reddit on April 30 as part of his doctoral thesis. The doctoral student asked 339 people five questions related to the security of Bitcoin, with a focus on how cryptocurrency holders handle their private keys. When asked where most of the BTC is stored, nearly half (158 people) said they used hardware wallets provided by Ledger, TREZOR, and BitLox. The hardware wallet can store the user’s encrypted wallet and private key.
